A Mini Review on Methods Used to Determine theFormation Constants of Metal Complexes in Solution
Keywords:
Metal Complexes, Schiff base, Solutions, Formation constant, MethodsAbstract
Formation constants, which represent the stability of metal-ligand complexes, can be determined through a variety of methods, including polarography, electrical conductance, temperature, immiscible solvent distribution coefficients, nuclear magnetic resonance, magnetic moment changes, solvent extraction, and optical activities. Modern techniques have been developed for calculating these constants accurately. By studying the thermodynamics and kinetics of metalligand complex formation, researchers can gain insights into the stability and reactivity of these compounds, as well as their potential applications in fields such as catalysis, medicine, and environmental science.
